Mission Statement/Goal:
To conduct research of international standing which focuses on the health of miners and their families. The company uses a scientific approach to gather information, create knowledge, provide recommendations and deliver products and services to those involved in the health care of miners.

Description of services provided:
Aurum Health Research works in the Free State, North West and Gauteng provinces.
Care:
Providing care, education and preventive isoniazid and cotrimoxazole treatment to HIV-infected individuals in an established HIV Clinic. Continued care for these patients, for both inpatient and outpatient care, provided by the Mining Company.
Prevention:
-Isoniazid and cotrimoxazole preventive treatment in identified HIV-infected individuals
-Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT)
-Targeted Community Intervention for women at high risk
-Peer Educators
Treatment:
-Preventive treatment for HIV-infected individuals - see above
-Tuberculosis (TB) treatment as part of a comprehensive TB Control Programme, including active case-finding, routine culturing, organism identification and drug sensitivity testing.
Workplace: Care, education and training within a workplace setting.
